Affiliative Membership (Free)

GEHNA Affiliative Membership is intended for universities, research institutes, and academic organizations active in equine health and nutrition. This membership pathway supports collaboration, knowledge sharing, and visibility of academic expertise within the GEHNA network.

Purpose of Affiliative Membership

Affiliative Membership enables academic and research organizations to contribute scientific expertise, educational resources, and research outputs to GEHNA initiatives. The focus is on fostering dialogue between academia and industry while maintaining academic independence and scientific integrity.

Contribution and Participation

Affiliative Members may contribute to GEHNA through a variety of activities, including:

  • Sharing research expertise and facilities
  • Contributing educational and scientific content to the Shared Knowledge Portal
  • Participating in working groups and expert discussions
  • Engaging in collaborative projects and meetings

Membership Conditions

Affiliative Membership is provided without a membership fee. Participation is based on mutual interest and alignment with GEHNA’s objectives. Affiliative Members do not engage in commercial promotion through GEHNA activities.

How to apply

Academic institutions and research organizations may join GEHNA as Affiliative Members free of charge. Affiliative Members contribute by sharing knowledge and maintaining up-to-date information about their expertise, facilities, and research infrastructure within the GEHNA Shared Knowledge Portal.

Two-Step Application Process

To ensure accurate onboarding and structured integration into the GEHNA network, Affiliative Membership follows a two-step procedure.

Step 1 – Complete the Online Application Form

This form collects general institutional information and confirms your support of GEHNA’s mission and objectives

Step 2 – Portal Access & Institutional Profile Completion

After review and confirmation of your application, you will receive instructions to activate access to the GEHNA University & Shared Knowledge Portal. Your institution will then be asked to complete its Affiliative Member Profile in the database. Required information includes institutional expertise, research focus areas, facilities, current projects, and relevant links (e.g., website, ResearchGate, ORCID). For an overview of the information that will be requested during the profile completion process, click here. A consent confirmation must be provided before the profile can be saved and published.

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date information in the portal is a condition of continued Affiliative Membership.
